3. Listen as God speaks to us.

4. Learn in order to guide others.

5. Fellowship.

6. Learn the historical context of the Bible.

7. Grasp the chronology of the Bible.

"Rules of Engagement" as you approach each reading:

1. Pray for understanding before you read.

2. Pray for other members of this study (we will be attacked spiritually).

3. Pick a translation you can understand and learn from, then stick with it.

4. Keep a written record of what you learn.

5. Avoid commentaries as much as you can (they are someone else’s opinion).

6. Always ask and answer this question regarding each passage of Scripture: "How does this affect my life or faith today?”
